Digital Citizenship: WSD Tech Department
- Rhees: Re: Safety and Tech in the schools.
- Filtering: WSD primary filters are UEN, web traffic also goes through other gateways and firewalls to scrub internet data
- Filtering is done by six groups based on age and capacity
- CIPA (Child Internet Protection Act) This is managed by BARK for schools which watches what the child searches and/or emails, chats.
- Digital learning and best practices taught through Nearpod (Common Sense Media)
Current Trustlands Plan:
- Plan can be found on the site
- Typing software was added post plan finalization
- Remaining budget balance is roughly $20k
Check on the way the budget reporting accuracy (IE: total budget is lumped into “general supplies”)
