The countdown to a well-deserved break is officially on! We are so proud of the hard work our students have put in lately, and it’s time for everyone to recharge.
📅 Important Dates to Remember:
Spring Break Starts: Saturday, March 28
Final Day of Break: Monday, April 6
School Resumes: Tuesday, April 7
🚗 Learning on the Go (Road Trip Edition!)
Whether you’re heading to the mountains or just to the grocery store, you can keep those "brain muscles" flexed without it feeling like homework:
The "License Plate" Math Game: Have your student add or multiply the numbers on the license plate of the car in front of you. Can they find a plate that sums up to exactly 20?
Audiobook Adventures: Long car rides are the perfect time for a family audiobook. It counts toward that 20-minute daily reading goal and sparks great conversations!
Snack Store Budgeting: Give your student a small "budget" for a gas station snack and have them calculate the total (including tax!) before you hit the register.
🌷 Making the Most of the Break
Looking for ways to balance the "chill" with the "skill"? Try these:
Spring Scavenger Hunt: Head to a local park and see who can find the first bud on a tree, a specific bird, or three different colors of rocks.
Kitchen Chemistry: Bake a treat together! Measuring ingredients is a secret way to practice fractions and following multi-step directions.
Letter Writing: Have your student write a physical postcard or letter to a relative or a teacher about their break. It’s great handwriting practice!
We hope every Lomond View family stays safe, has tons of fun, and finds some time to relax. We can’t wait to see all our Lions back in the halls on Tuesday, April 7!
