Smart Panels-
Lisa Johnson has just received one and she gave us the tutorial.
(Principal Skeen was very generous about the aesthetic)

-This panel allows multiple children to use it at the same time (eg: a math problem)
-A powerpoint presentation can be written on - even in presentation mode.
-Kids can design and program a game and then demo it on the Smart Panel.
-These boards were designed by teachers for teachers.
-The board will save all of the slides (and the teacher’s actual voice) used during the teaching day and can be sent to an absent child.

The long term plan is to have one in every classroom in the next two to three years and will give the opportunity to the kids to interact and learn in a more integral way.

Leader in Me- January 12th the trainer is coming to visit the staff.
-This training is designed to help kids with social, emotional and interpersonal skills, in addition to leadership skill development.
-A program named “Panorama” will be discussed in this meeting. This program analyzes the kids based on a survey in both academics and interpersonal skills; these are administered three times per year and go from third to sixth grade.
-7 Habits for Highly Effective Children will be covered and training for staff will be scheduled.

Emily Mangum on Dibels: There is mass improvement across the board; more specific data will be covered in the next meeting.

Current Trust Lands Plan and Budget-
Budget started the year at $59,419, nearly all of the funds have been allocated for 2021. See budget allocation on the site.

Next Year’s Plan
In the next meeting we will consider what to do with the funds for next year.

Q: Are the Jr. High’s and High School’s doing this?
A: Mr. Skeen is going to find out

Q: If not all of the elementaries aren’t doing it, what will happen when kids go to secondary schools with kids who don’t have that background?
A: Mr. Skeen will see if the effort can be coordinated
