Welcome Back to School Lomond View Lions!

The first day of school is coming quickly.  I am so excited to have our wonderful students back to Lomond View.  I have really missed the excitement and energy our children bring to our school, and we can’t wait for them to come back.

As we prepare for the upcoming year here is some important information for you to be familiar with:

  •  Monday, August 24th is our Back to School Night (see info. below).
  • Wednesday, August 26th is the First Day of School for 1st-6th @8:30 AM
  • August 26th-August 28th School is released on Wednesday Schedule
  • Wednesday, September 2nd is the First Day of Kindergarten @ 8:30 for AM and 10:50 for PM.

Class Assignments:

We just had our New Student Registration Thursday so we can now finalize class lists.  Class assignments for the 2020-2021 school year will be available on Wednesday, August 12th on the WSD Portal (  The portal is where you go check progress reports, pay lunch money, sign up for parent conferences, update contact information, and for all new and returning students to view and sign registration documents. If you need assistance logging into the parent portal call our office at (801) 452-4780.

  • Completed by ALL students every year by logging on to the WSD portal (see link above)
  • Digital Signature from Parent/Guardian and Student for various documents.
  • Weber School District Demographic/Emergency Form (Print and update only if there are changes that cannot be made through the portal.
  • Printed Optional Forms if applicable to your student.
  • Please complete the registration forms above, review Lomond View’s policies and procedures and return any printed registration documents to your child’s teacher on Back to School Night.  In addition, it is really important to make sure all of your contact and emergency contact information is correct.

Back to School Night:

We are still planning on holding a Back to School Night on Monday, August 24th, 2020 to give students the important opportunity to meet their teachers and see their classroom.  In an effort to adhere to social distancing guidelines we have made some adjustments.  Back to School Night will be by appointment only.  Starting August 12th when class assignments are available you can sign up for Back to School Night.

The first available appointment will begin at 4:30.  There will be 6 available times with five slots for each time.  Each appointment will be 10 minutes long with 5 minutes in between for cleaning.  We ask you to limit the number of people who attend with your student, social distance and wear a mask.  Once you finish your appointment please exit through the nearest door.  **Note our Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers will be setting up individual appointments with you to assess each student and see their teacher and classroom.  This will take the place of Back to School Night on Monday evening.

Please allow enough time before your appointment to sign up for our PTA which will be near the front doors and if needed pay lunch money in our lunchroom.  Taking care of this before your appointment helps us cut down the amount of traffic in the hallways.  We ask students and parents to enter through the front door and exit out the nearest door after your appointment.  We are doing our best to avoid any cross traffic and have organized flow.  For example if you have a student in our lower hallway (5th or 6th) and need to come back to the upper hallway (3rd or 4th) there will be signs and a certain door to enter through to avoid cross traffic.  We appreciate your patience as we do everything we can to follow protocol and guidelines set forth to protect the health of our students and school community.

School Schedule:

In order to allow time for teachers to reach out and work with students who are on a long or short term flexible learning option the schedule has been shortened by 45 minutes.  This will also help provide additional time for our custodial crew to clean and disinfect each day.  The schedule will be as follows:

M, T, Th, F (1st-6th) regular schedule: 8:30-2:30 (First 3 days are on a Wed. schedule).

W (1st-6th) 8:30-12:30

M, T, Th, F (Kind) AM: 8:30-11:00;  PM: 12:00-2:30

W (Kind) AM: 8:30-10:10;  PM: 10:50-12:30

I look forward to a fantastic school year!  It is a privilege for me to serve as the principal of Lomond View.  Even though this year will be different, we will make it great as we work together to help meet the needs of our students.  We appreciate your ongoing support.
