October 3, 2018 Community Council Minutes

Lomond View Elementary School Community Council

Minutes for meeting on: October 3, 2018

Present: Justin Skeen, Lisa Johnson, Dawneen Baker, Jen Fife, Lexi Stokes, Brittany McConkie, Jaclyn Wintle

Welcome: Justin welcomed the group and introductions were made.
Jen nominated Jaclyn as chair - all in attendance supported.

Discussion about Trust Land Funds:
Justin gave a brief overview of what the School Trust Land Funds are, what they are to be used for and what our roles are as a committee. More information can be found at: http://www.schoollandtrust.org/ All committee members need to watch the training videos on the website. Justin will send the exact link for these videos.

Review 2018-19 Trust Land Plan:
The Trust Land Plan was gone over. Justin made mention of a possible amendment change to the salaries - it may be on the high end and the money could be used elsewhere. We will revisit this. Smart boards are needed.

Discuss Child Access Routing Plans:
A plan needs to be submitted to the Safety Committee. Candace Keisel is heading this.

Discuss Yearly Safety Drills: Lockdown drills are required to be done in the Fall. Justin will inform parents and students before the drill takes place. This drill will occur the Thursday after Fall Break. The reunification drill will take place in November - exact date to be determined. We will follow the Weber County School District plan for this which can be found on their website. http://wsd.net/resources/safety/reunification

Justin is sending information out for parents about the Boundary Committee members and the areas that they represent. The Open House for the community to attend will be held on October 23 at Wahlquist.
